Roe v Wade Is Lost
When The Donald stuffed the Supreme (?) Court with his henchmen . . .
. . . they got together to terminate Roe v Wade—just like they promised The Donald they would, thus completing the secret bargain they made so that The Idiot would recommend them for the Supreme Court in the first place.
Now they are poised to do the bidding of The Cult Of Trump and strike down the Roe v Wade legislation that elevated all women from the status of farm animals to the status of human beings with free choice.
Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the House, said:
“If the report is accurate, the supreme court is poised to inflict the greatest restriction of rights in the past 50 years – not just on women but on all Americans.
The Republican-appointed justices’ reported votes to overturn Roe v Wade would go down as an abomination, one of the worst and most damaging decisions in modern history.
Several of these conservative justices, who are in no way accountable to the American people, have lied to the US Senate, ripped up the constitution and defiled both precedent and the supreme court’s reputation.
I have a solution for this dreadful turn of events.
Have all babies
born to mothers who wanted a legal abortion
dropped off on the hoods of cars,
at the mailboxes or
on the doorsteps
of any congress person or judge.
No note—just a baby
that the congress person or judge can raise.
The US does not want to treat female human beings honorably?
Fine.
You raise and pay for the kid.

The US supreme court draft ruling on abortion is an assault on fundamental individual freedoms. The Handmaid’s Tale author reflects on the issues at stake

Nobody likes abortion, even when safe and legal. It’s not what any woman would choose for a happy time on Saturday night. But nobody likes women bleeding to death on the bathroom floor from illegal abortions either. What to do?
Perhaps a different way of approaching the question would be to ask: What kind of country do you want to live in? One in which every individual is free to make decisions concerning his or her health and body, or one in which [the men are] free [but the women are] enslaved?
Women who cannot make their own decisions about whether or not to have babies are enslaved because the state claims ownership of their bodies and the right to dictate the use to which their bodies must be put. The only similar circumstance for men is conscription into an army. In both cases there is risk to the individual’s life, but an army conscript is at least provided with food, clothing, and lodging. Even criminals in prisons have a right to those things. If the state is mandating enforced childbirth, why should it not
- • pay for prenatal care
- • pay for the birth itself
- • pay for postnatal care and – for babies who are not sold off to richer families
- • pay for the cost of bringing up the child?
And if the state is very fond of babies, why not honour the women who have the most babies by respecting them and lifting them out of poverty? If women are providing a needed service to the state – albeit against their wills – surely they should be paid for their labour. If the goal is more babies, I am sure many women would oblige if properly recompensed. Otherwise, they are inclined to follow the natural law: placental mammals will abort in the face of resource scarcity.

If one chooses to have a baby, that is of course a different matter. The baby is a gift, given by life itself. But to be a gift a thing must be freely given and freely received. A gift can also be rejected. A gift that cannot be rejected is not a gift, but a symptom of tyranny.
We say that women “give birth.” And mothers who have chosen to be mothers do give birth, and feel it as a gift. But if they have not chosen, birth is not a gift they give; it is an extortion from them against their wills.
No one is forcing women to have abortions. No one either should force them to undergo childbirth.
[If the state] enforces childbirth, at least call that enforcing by what it is: Slavery.
Slavery
The claim to own and control
another’s body,
and to profit by that claim.

This Just In
Well the three crooked Trump appointees to the supreme (?) court did what they promised The Donald they would do.
Amy Vivian Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh
THEY TRASHED ROE VS. WADE.
Women are reduced to being farm animals again.
“All men are created equal” has been thrown out by the crooked Trump operatives he appointed to the supreme (?) court.
FORCED CHILDBIRTH has been returned to “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
Our country cannot function with a corrupt supreme court that follows the orders of the deposed maniac Donald Trump.
We need to hold recall elections AT ONCE to rid our supreme court
of these three dreadful Trump appointees. If there’s a rule standing in the way of removing these corrupt people, remove the rule!
A position with this much power CAN NO LONGER BE A LIFETIME APPOINTMENT. A procedure for removing corrupt supreme (?) court justices must be initiated AT ONCE.

Political pressure is mounting on Joe Biden to take more action to protect abortion rights across the US as firebrand New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for supreme court justices to be impeached for misleading statements about their views on Roe v Wade.
Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks took aim at justices Amy Vivian Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.
House members can impeach a judge
with a simple majority vote.
But to be removed from office a justice
would need to be convicted
by a two-thirds majority of the Senate.
Biden’s Democratic party controls the House with a clear majority, but its standing in the Senate is much more tenuous. The Senate is split 50-50, though Biden’s vice-president, Kamala Harris, can serve as a tiebreaker but only for votes that can be carried by a simple majority.
Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez urged Biden to personally take steps to address what she called the supreme court’s “crisis of legitimacy.” “President Biden must address that,” she said.
Ocasio-Cortez suggested Biden could order the opening up of abortion clinics on federal lands in states where terminating pregnancies has been outlawed “to help people access the healthcare services they need”, echoing an idea from the Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren.
In states where abortion is no longer allowed because of Friday’s ruling, residents who need to terminate pregnancies must now travel hundreds of miles – if not more – to get access to the procedure.
Many US corporate giants have taken steps to provide support and financial assistance to employees seeking abortions in states where that is outlawed in most cases. But such measures won’t help millions of people who need abortions but are not employed by a large international or national company.
That’s where an order from Biden to allow abortion on federal lands in anti-abortion rights states would help.
