Coastal Preparations For California’s Big One

All scientists agree.

It’s not IF The Big One Earthquake will hit

it’s WHEN The Big One will hit.

Before The Big One

Here’s what to do to be prepared.

For The Big One

For The Big One (earthquake) do this.

  • 1. at your house collect these items. If you happen to be at home when catastrophe strikes, you’re all set. If you are not at home and are too far away to hike there, you will have to depend on safe locations and friends until you can get back home.

    • 1.1. a solar rechargeable AM/FM/Weather radio since the feds will probably execute the Internet and cell phone shut down procedure they’ve been practicing. This is the Raynic radio.

    • 1.2. super bright high tech flashlight in its holster on your belt at all times. Draw the flashlight when you draw your gun to blind the attacker as you fire the gun.
    • 1.3. a .38 special with hollow point bullets in its holster on your belt at all times. Be sure to always have your .38 in the bed with you when you sleep or nap.
    • 1.4. long storage survival food supplies
    • 1.5. a twig fueled Rocket Stove for cooking
    • 1.6. Here’s a link to a rocket stove from Amazon
    • 1.7. plenty of distilled water in PLASTIC 5 gallon bottles
    • 1.8. a camping style outdoor latrine with a small shovel to use when shifting the latrine

  • 2. put a backpack in the trunk (or back) of your car. in it put

    • 2.1. a Garmin GPS hand-held navigation tool with spare batteries. The Garmin I have is an Oregon 300 model. Study the Garmin instructions and practice until you can operate the GPS navigation tool easily. Store the Garmin with the batteries removed. (A battery leak will destroy your Garmin.) Each year, in January and July (J&J) put batteries into your Garmin and check that it is still operating. The Garmin will hold your waypoint library even with the batteries removed.
    • 2.2. Every time you visit a friend's location, add a waypoint to the Garmin and give it the name of your friend.
    • 2.3. Every time you visit a safe location (like a police station or a library) that does NOT offer food, cash, clothes or shelter (which will attract lawless marauders) set another waypoint and name it with the location.
    • 2.4. hiking socks,
    • 2.5. hiking shoes,
    • 2.6. a light but warm jacket
    • 2.7. a 38 special in its holster loaded with hollow point bullets,
    • 2.8. a belt pouch of .38 special hollow nose bullets for reloading,
    • 2.9. energy food bars,
    • 2.10. two bottles of distilled water,
    • 2.11. a thin rain poncho with a hood

When the big one hits there will be

If society breaks down, roaming armed criminals will search for:

If you are a beautiful female, all you have to protect yourself is

There will be NO “police presence.”

Police who are not at home protecting their own families from marauding gangs will most likely be out protecting firemen to prevent a fire storm (with no water in the broken water mains to fight it).

Make the best preparations you can and hope that the military can wrest control back from the criminals before the criminals find you. If the criminals do find you, you know what you have to do.
